With 26 years of dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces, Heather brings a unique perspective to her role as a therapist. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University and a Master of Divinity from Acadia Divinity College. Since 2011, Heather has been a registered member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, offering her skills in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, marital breakdown, and crisis management.
As both a Veteran and the spouse of a Veteran, Heather possesses a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by military members and their families. She is committed to providing a compassionate, judgment-free environment where clients feel welcomed and supported. Heather believes in the importance of having someone to accompany us through life’s transitions and challenges, and she offers faith-based counselling for those who consider spirituality a vital part of their healing journey.
Heather employs a person-centred approach, emphasizing the healing power of meaning-making. Her extensive training includes Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mediation and Dispute Resolution, and Pre-Marital Counselling.
A proud Maritimer, Heather cherishes her roles as a wife and mother to both her children and her fur-kids. In her leisure time, she finds her own form of therapy on two wheels.
